Albert.Seymour.Loughnane enlisted in to the North Staffordshire Regiment 2-11-1910 & first landed in France 10-9-1914. He was awarded the DCM in the London gazette 29-11-1915 with the following citation.
For Conspicuous gallantry & devotion resource on the 30th / 31st of October 1915 at St Eloi craters.L-Cpl loughnane when in command of a covering party, displayed great coolness & bravery in repelling two severe German attacks & although incapacitated by a wound during the second attack, he continued to set a splendid example of courage & endurance to all ranks with him.
He was discharged to a pension with a silver war badge 25-5-1917 & the award of the August to november 1914 clasp for the ribbon of the recipients 1914 Star is confirmed on the MIC
