WW1 1914-15 Trio with the recipients original silver war badge & mint cased Imperial Service medal

Robert William Hunter was born in Middlesbrough in 1898 & went on to live at Hyde Park, Leeds. He enlisted in to the 2nd battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment 2-11-1912 age just 14 but lied about his age & said he was 17. He first landed in France 20-3-1915. & received a gun shot wound to his right leg & left elbow joint 15-7-1915 which sadly resulted in the amputation of his leg. He was discharged with a silver war badge 10-8-1916 age 21 & went on to work for the G.P.O in Leeds. He was awarded the Imperial Service medal as technician class 1 in the London gazette 22-9-1961. He passed away in Cheshire in 1988 just three months short of his 90th birthday.
