Robert MCGiffen was born in Felling, Gateshead & lived in Bentham, Gateshead whilst enlisting in Gateshead.He first landed in France 24-7-1915 serving with the 7th battalion of the Border Regiment.He transferred to the 2nd battalion and sadly died of wounds in France & Flanders 3-7-16 & is buried in Abbeville Communal cemetery.
