George McGillivray first landed in France 11-8-1914 serving with the 2nd battalion of the Royal Scots and the award of his 1914 clasp is confirmed on his MIC. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 15-10-1914 at Rouge Croix & he is buried in Y farm military cemetery at Bios-Grenier. His actual grave site was lost but he is commemorated on a special memorial within the cemetery.
