WW1 1914 Star trio with original August to November 1914 clasp & 1911 Delhi Durbar Medal

Thomas Hardy was born at Tingwall, Shetland & enlisted in Aberdeen. He served with the regiment at the 1911 Delhi Durbar & his medal is confirmed on the published roll. He first landed in France 7-10-1914 & was sadly wounded at Ypres later the same month. He died of his wounds 1-11-1914 & having no known grave he is commemorated on the Menin gate memorial at Ypres. He was 25 years of age at the time of his death & is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of Mr & Mrs Thomas & Jessie Hardy of Wadbister, Girlsta, Shetland.
He is pictured in Shetlands roll of honour and is wearing his Delhi Durbar medal in uniform.
