Harold Hunt Caffyn was educated at both Rugby school & the RMC Sandhurst. He was was killed in action in France & Flanders on the night of the 21st / 22nd of March 1915 & having no known grave he is commemorated on the Ploegstreet memorial.

Chalenor McRae Humphrey Manington Caffyn was killed in action serving as a pilot with 60 squadron of the Royal Flying Corps 28-3-1917 & is buried in the Avesnes-Le-Comte cemetery. He was educated at Cheltenham college & the university of Zurich where he played international ice hockey for England before enlisting for war service.
Both men were the sons of Stephen & Kathleen Mannington Caffyn of London & Ireland. The older brother was 33 when when he died & the younger brother was 24. The recipients mother was a famous published author who wrote under the pen name of IOTA.
Both groups are GVF/NEF or better & come with extensive research details including copy images of both men in uniform, copy service papers, MIC details, CWGC details & other military & biographical details.
