1) 1914-15 trio & memorial plaque
To- 2-LIEUT.G.G.GRAY.OX&BUCKS.L.I
George Godfrey Gray was commissioned 22-12-1914 and first landed in France 2-10-1915 serving with the 5th battalion. He was severely wounded 22-11-1915 and was mortally wounded leading his men in an attack 10-4-1917. He was 22 years of age at the time of his death & had been educated at Tonbridge School. He is buried in Warlincourt Halte British cemetery at Saulty.
2) WW1 Pair & memorial Plaque
To- 2-LIEUT.G.M.GRAY.
Gerald Montague Gray was commissioned in to the 6th Royal West Kent Regiment 31-7-1915 and first landed in France 13-7-1916. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 7-10-1916 & having no known grave he is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial. He was 20 years of age at the time of his death and was educated at Marlborough college.
Both men were the sons of Doctor G.G.Gray LLD, JP of the vines, Udimore, Sussex.
Both groups are NEF or better and come with extensive research details that include copy images of both recipients from the relevant school / college rolls of honour. Along with other research details such as MIC & CWGC details.
