George Frederick Elliott Wright was born in Gorleston, Norfolk & lived in Rotherhithe, Surrey. He served with the Imperial Yeomanry during the Boer war of 1899-1902 & enlisted in to the 30th battalion of the Royal Fusiliers in WW1. He went on to transfer to the East Kent Regiment & was awarded the Military Medal for services in France with the 8th battalion. This was published in the London gazette 12-3-1917. He transferred to the 1st battalion & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders on the 1st day of the March offensive 21-3-1918. He is buried in Achiet-Le-Grand communal cemetery extension.
The medals are NEF or better & the plaque is housed in a large & heavy bronze frame.
Complete with copy service papers, medal roll details, CWGC details & SDGW details. Along with other basic military & biographical details.
