James Fitzpatrick from Kirkliston, Edinburgh enlisted in to the Royal Field Artillery 29-7-1897 & served with the 66th battery R.F.A in South Africa from 23-10-1899 until 12-1-1903 including service with his battery at the battle of Colenso 15-12-1899. He returned home & took his discharge 28-7-1903 after six years service.
