Frederick James Paul was born in Devonport 1872 & enlisted in to the Royal Horse Artillery in 1892. He served with A battery R.H.A in South Africa 1899-1902 & went on to serve with G Battery. He was awarded his LS&GC in 1909 & took his discharge in 1912.
