Geoffrey Carr was commissioned in to the 8th service battalion of the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry & first arrived in France with the battalion in 1915. He was M.I.D for services in Salonica in the London gazette 27-11-1917 & went on to be awarded the Military Cross in the London gazette 1-1-1919. He was hospitalized with Malaria in Salonica 1917 & wounded & gassed in 1918 whilst attached to the 66th brigade headquarters.He applied for the issue of his campaign medals in 1921 whilst living in St Aubyns, Hove,
