Tom Morton was both born & lived at Pailton, Warwickshire. He enlisted in Coventry & first landed in France 5-11-1914. He served with the B.E.F in France until 21-6-1915 when he returned home. He remained in the UK until 14-10-1915 when he embarked for Gallipoli. He sadly died at sea 19-10-1915 age 26 whilst serving with 17th Siege Battery of the Royal Garrison Artillery. He was buried at sea & is commemorated on the Helles memorial. The CWGC state that he was the late son of William & Sarah Morton of Palilton, Rugby.
He is entitled to the 1914 star trio due to his prior service in France
