Arthur Charles Batchelor was one of the original members of the 10th service battalion of the Royal Fusiliers / The Stockbrokers battalion. He first landed in France 31-7-1915 & was wounded in the neck at Gavrelle 24-4-1917 & sadly went on to die of wounds 4-5-1917. He was 20 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in Aubigny communal cemetery extension. He was awarded the MM for his actions at Gavrelle when he was wounded 24-4-1917 & has a very detailed citation in the London County Council war record. He is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of Staff.Sjt.Major.H.W.Batchelor.R.A.S.C of 9 Kyle road, Battersea, London & was a former employee of the Comptrollers department of the L.C.C
