Albert Gotham first landed in France 25-6-1915 and was later issued with the new post 1916 TF service number 200870. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 29-11-1917 serving with the 2/6th battalion. He was both born & lived in Newcastle, Staffordshire & enlisted in Hanley, Staffordshire. He was 22 years of age at the time of his death & having no known grave he is commemorated in the Cambrai memorial. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Thomas & Katherine.E.Gotham of 92 King street, Newcastle, Staffs.
