James Knight was born in Portsea, Hampshire 2-1-78 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy 12-10-1897. He served onboard HMS Terrible both during the Boxer rebellion of 1900 & during the Boer war of 1899-1902. He served onboard HMS Hercules at Jutland during WW1 & is also entitled to the 1914-15 trio & RN LS&GC.
