David Carstairs Gardener was born in Killkenny, Fife 14-3-1879 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy as a boy in 1897. He received a bullet wound to the right arm at Hsiku 23-6-1900 & transferred to the RFR in 1905. He was recalled for service in WW1 & was finally discharged in 1919. He is also entitled to the 1914-15 trio.
GVF or better & complete with both copy service papers & casualty roll details. One of 390 single Relief of Pekin clasps to this ship out of a total issue of 750 China medals to the ship.
