George Kennedy was born in Paisley 1878 & served in South Africa during the Boer war with the 142nd company of the Imperial Yeomanry (Fincastle's Horse).He enlisted in to the 2nd Dragoons / Royal Scots Greys in York 25-8-1914 age 40 & first landed in France 19-10-1915. He was severely wounded by Gun shot to the left leg in France 2-1-1918 which resulted in the amputation of his left foot. He was discharged with a silver war badge 23-8-1918 & sadly died as a direct result of his wounds 4-9-1920.
GVF/NEF & Complete with his original honourable discharge scroll, certificate of discharge, silver war badge issue certificate, character certificate & condolence slip for the issue of the medals. Along with a full set of copy Boer war service papers, MIC details, medal roll details, pension claim details & other basic research. The Honourable discharge certificate has been glued down on to card & slightly cut down in size to allow it to be framed?
