Walter Albert Hartfield was born in Woolwich, Kent 29-6-1848 & enlisted in to the Royal Navy in 1872. He served onboard HMS Penelope at Alexandria during the Egypt campaign of 1882 & was awarded his LS&GC later the same year. He sadly died of consumption whilst serving on the ascension Islands 8-8-1889 & was discharged dead.
Superb EF/NEF with no contact marks in either the obverse or reverse field & one very tiny ek to the rim of the Egypt. Complete with copy service papers & other basic research details.
