William Leonard Preston was born in Blackburn & enlisted in Manchester. He sadly died of wounds in France & Flanders 5-3-1916 age 20. Whilst serving with the 70th Feld company of the Royal Engineers. He is buried in Bethune town cemetery and is recorded by the C.W.G.C as the late son of Walter David James & Marion Ada Preston of 99 Cross Lane, Gorton Manchester.
