John Diwell was born in Camberwell, London 28-11-75 and enlisted in to the Royal Navy in 1895. He was awarded his LS&GC in 1912 & during WW1 he spent most of his service onboard HMS DIDO. He was mentioned in despatches for minesweeping services in the London gazette 20-9-1918.He left the service the following year & sadly passed away in Dartford, Kent 4-6-1949.
