Eric Rye from York enlisted in to the Royal Corps of Signals in 1937 & after service with the regiment during the Arab revolt of 1936-39 he went on to serve with the regiment during WW2. He applied for the issue of his campaign medals in 1950 whilst living at 81 Bishopthorpe road, York & is also entitled to the 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Italy Star, France & Germany Star, Defence Medal & 1939-45 War Medal.
