William Mappin from Sheffield enlisted 1898 & served in South Africa from 28-10-1899 through to 4-10-1902. He was awarded the DCM in the London gazette 26-6-1902 & all of his military service in South Africa was with the 66th battery. He left the army in 1903 after 4 years service.
This battery famously served at Colenso 15-12-1899.
