Micheal.W.Conner from Liverpool was a pre WW1 Regular soldier with the South Lancashire regiment & was awarded the 1911 Delhi Durbar medal in that capacity. The medal is neatly regimentally impressed to the rim & is confirmed on the roll. He first landed overseas in Mesopotamia 15-10-1915 & was awarded the Serbian medal of Oblitch for his services in Mesopotamia in the London gazette 15-2-1917. Whilst overseas he transferred to the 1st battalion of the Ox & Bucks.LI & was awarded the immediate M.S.M also for services in Mesopotamia in the London gazette 3-3-1919 & he went on to be mentioned in despatches in the London gazette 12-1-1920 also for services in Mesopotamia. He settled in India & was awarded the volunteer long service medal for his services with the Simla volunteer rifles.
One of only 313 awards of the Serbian bravery medal in silver to the British army for services in WW1 & this has to be a unique combination. As is common with the WW1 Serbian awards the light silver plating has been polished off from the surface of the medal.
GVF or better & court mounted as worn. Complete with MIC & London gazette details.
