Donald Robert Butcher was born in Enfield, Middlesex in 1931 & enlisted for National service in 1950. He was captured & taken prisoner of war at the battle of Imjim river 26-4-1951 & was released 6-8-1953 & returned home onboard the Asturias. He settled back in to civilian life in Devon & married in 1954. He sadly passed away 7-11-2016. He was a well known member of the Devon branch of the regimental association. Complete with the recipients American presidential unit citation bar, 3x commemorative medals as worn by the recipients, a Gloucestershire regiment tercentenary silver medal in its case of issue, assorted lapel badges from the regimental association & a small photograph album that contains a dozen postcard size photographs as taken by or of the recipient whilst on military service including a number taken whilst a P.O.W & including an image of the recipient taking part in the P.O.W Olympic games in Korea.
The Korea pair is NEF/GVF & mounted as worn & the naming is 100% perfect & free from any official corrections or alterations.
