Harry Edmund Lodge first landed in France 19-5-1915 serving with the 1st battalion of the Kings Royal Rifle Corps. and sadly died of wounds in France & Flanders 14-8-1917 serving with the 21st service battalion. He was born in St Clements, Birmingham & enlisted in Birmingham. He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial at Ypres.The C.W.G.C state that the recipient was the late 25 year old son of Charles & Agnes Lodge of 3 Brighton Terrace, Railway Terrace, Birmingham & the late husband of Maud Elizabeth Lodge of 85, 77, Great Francis Street, Birmingham.
The small silver sports medal is named on the reverse to the recipient as a member of the 1st K.R.R.C & dated 1911-1912 from the senior division, Aldershot Command Football League & is fully hallmarked.
