Alfred Lavender first landed in theatre of war 5F (Asiatic) prior to 1-1-1916 and went on to be awarded the Military Medal for services in Mesopotamia in the London gazette 20-8-1919 & at this stage the gazette stated that he was a resident of Woodville, Derbyshire. He went on to serve with the regiment in Afghanistan 1919 & transferred to the R.A.S.C with service number 4794436. He was awarded his LS&GC in 1925 & is also entitled to the IGS 1908 With clasps for both Afghanistan NWF 1919 & Waziristan 1921-24 but this is sadly missing from the group.
