Major General Sir John Charles Oakes Marriott. KCVO, CB, DSO & BAR, MC. Born 1895, Commissioned Northamptonshire Regiment 1914 & was awarded the DSO & Bar & French Croix-De-Guerre in WW1. He transferred to the Scots Guards in 1920 & was appointed to the RVO in 1935. He became C.O of the Scots Guards in 1938 & was serving as a Major General by the end of WW2. He retired in 1950 & passed away in 1978.
