Lawrence Ritchie first landed in France 20-11-1915 serving with the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders as a Cpl with service number S-5435. He transferred to the Royal Scots Fusiliers with service number 29968 and was commissioned in to the Border Regiment 28-8-17. He applied for the issue of his campaign medals in 1923 whilst living in Ashgill, Lanarkshire.
