John Reid Dennison lived on the Orkney Islands and was a serving officer with the Orkney R.G.A when he was granted a temporary commission in to the Royal Marines 1-7-1917. He served with the R.M.A division and the British War Medal was his sole entitlement. His commission was terminated in February 1919 to allow him to return to the Orkney R.G.A
