WW1 Memorial plaque
To- EDWARD.HENRY.NOBLE.CORDEUX.
Edward Henry Noble Cordeux was the son of Robert Henry & Ethel Cordeux of Bunny Park, Nottingham & was educated at Repton school, Derbyshire. He was commissioned in to the 1/7th battalion of the Notts & Derby Regiment / The Robin Hood Rifles & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 1-10-1915. He was 19 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in Hedge Row trench cemetery in Belgium.
His sister married Commander Eric Gascoigne Robinson of the Royal Navy. Commander Robinson was awarded the VC for actions in the Dardanelles 1915 & was actually recommended for the bar to the VC but this was not authorised.
The plaque is mint in its original card case of issue & comes complete with the original Buckingham palace forwarding letter. Along with research details that include a photographic image of the recipient as taken from the Graphic magazine published 23-10-1918.
