WW1 FAMILY GROUP TO BROTHERS FROM NEWARK, R.F.A MM GROUP & 8th LINCOLN.R, P.O.W GROUP WITH ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS & PAPERS
A superb family group to two brothers from Newark
1) GVR 1st type WW1 Military Medal (MM) & 1914-15 Trio To- 26805.DVR.H.PARKIN.18/DAC.R.F.A
Harry Parkin from Newark first landed in France 25-7-1915 and was awarded the Military Medal (MM) for services in France with the 18th divisional ammunition column of the Royal Field Artillery for actions at Shrapnel corner in the London gazette 28-9-1917. He went on to serve in the Home Guard in Inverness during WW2. Complete with a selection of of the recipients original documents including a divisional gallantry card from the Major General commanding the 18th division which states it is for gallantry at shrapnel corner.
2) 1914-15 Trio
To- 11892.PTE.G.T.PARKER / PARKIN.LINC.R
George.T.Parkin served with the 8th service battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment & first landed in France 10-9-1915. He was recorded on the war office casualty roll dated 23-10-1915 as having been taken prisoner of war in France. This is confirmed in the recipients pay book.
Complete with the recipients original AB64 army paybook, Soldiers small book, postal envelope for the medals POW card, POW inoculation card & two postcards as sent home by the recipient whilst undergoing basic training in the UK.
Both groups are NEF or better & the MM group is court mounted as worn.
