GVR 1st type WW1 Military Medal with 2nd award Bar To- 275329.PTE.G.WEIR.1/7th.A&S.HIGHRS
George Weir from Denny, Falkirk. First landed in France 15-12-1914 & went on to be awarded the Military Medal (MM) for services in France in the London gazette 6-8-1918 whilst serving with the 7th battalion & this was followed by the award of the bar to the MM also for services in France in the London gazette 23-7-1919 & this was for services whilst attached to the trench mortar battery. He was discharged to the reserve 23-3-1919.
