Alexander Harvie Maclean was killed in action in France & Flanders at Le Cateau 26-8-1914 & had previously been M.I.D for his services in the Boer War in the London gazette 10-9-1901. He was 46 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in Le Cateau military cemetery,
He has a fairly extensive obituary in volume one of the bond of sacrifice which includes a decent image of the recipient. His WW1 Pair was never claimed by his next of kin & was never issued. As such this group represents his full & complete medal entitlement as issued.
