John Burrows from Sligo enlisted in to the Connaught Rangers in January 1904 & first landed in France with the 2nd battalion 14-8-1914. He was taken prisoner of war by the Germans 26-8-1914 at Le Cateau & spent the rest of war in captivity at Doeberitz before being repatriated home in December 1918.
