John Moodie was born in Dunbar & both lived & enlisted in Prestonpans, Haddington. He first landed in France 24-3-1915 & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 23-7-1918 serving with the 7/8th battalion of the K.O.S.B. He has no known grave but is commemorated on the Soissons memorial & was 28 years of age at the time of his death. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Mrs J Moodie of 102 Newbiggin, Musselburgh, Midlothian.
