James Napier from Tranent first landed in France 5-11-1914 serving with the 8th Royal Scots & went on to be awarded the Immediate Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) for services in France in the London gazette 18-1-1919. The award of the August to November clasp for the recipients 1914 star is confirmed on the recipients MIC as having been issued in 1921.
