MINT CASED 1911 CORONATION MEDALLION, PRESENTED TO ALDERMAN C.H.WILSON OF LEEDS, THE ORIGINAL QUARTERMASTER OF THE LEEDS PALS 1914

A large & attractive bronze medallion to commemorate the 1911 coronation. Presented by William Middlebrook MP & Lord Mayor of Leeds

Charles Wilson was the conservative MP for Leeds 1923-1929 & was the original quartermaster of the 15th Service battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment / Leeds Pals. He was part of the original raising committee for the battalion but did not proceed overseas with them when they went to Egypt in 1915.
The medallion is named around the outer edge to the recipient & is housed in its original fitted case of issue. The medallion measures 76mm x 76mm & is made of solid bronze.
