John Lodey was both born & enlisted in Newcastle, Staffordshire & lived in Stoke on Trent. He first landed in France 3-3-1915 serving with the 1/5th battalion & was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 1-7-1917 whilst serving under his new six figure service number 200330. He was 35 years of age at the time of his death & having no known grave he is commemorated on the Arras memorial. The CWGC state that he was the late son of James & Emily Lodey & the late husband of Grace Florence Lodey.
