Paul Anthony Meade was awarded the Military Cross for services in Mesopotamia in the London gazette 28-5-1919 whilst serving with the 112th infantry, The Military O.B.E in the London gazette 8-6-1934 with the 3rd battalion Sikhs & was M.I.D for services on the North West Frontier whilst O.C 12th Frontier Force Rifles / Baluchistan Intelligence Bureau.
The citation for the recipients Military Cross states,
Captain Paul Anthony Meade, 1/112th Infantry, I.A For conspicuous gallantry & devotion to duty during the operations at Sherqat on 29 / 30TH October 1918. It was largely due to his ability to command that an important position of the enemy's flank was gained successfully. Later , he drove the enemy out of two lines of trenches to secure some high ground of tactical importance, and held on there all night. He handled his company throughout with skill & resource.
