Edward Herbert Leonard was born 5-12-1910 & enlisted in to the R.A.F in 1926. He was awarded the B.E.M in the London gazette 11-6-1942 with the following citation / recommendation
This Airman has shown outstanding ability during the past two years & has been an inspiration to his subordinates. He has been detailed to salve crashed aircraft at many places in India & by his initiative & resourcefulness, has been instrumental in saving many valuable aircraft from complete write off.
He was commissioned as a probationary pilot officer 30-4-1942 & retired as a flight lieutenant 24-7-1954.
