Eric O'Connor was a resident of Tweedmouth, Berwick on Tweed & originally enlisted in to the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. He transferred to the Kings Royal Rifle Corps & became entitled to the efficiency medal whilst serving with that regiment. He applied for the issue of his campaign medals in 1948 whilst living at 3 Brewery Bank, Tweedmouth, Berwick on Tweed, Northumberland. He was a railway man by trade & a long serving member of the St. John ambulance brigade.
GVF or better & mounted as worn. Complete with the boxes of issue for the efficiency medal & the St. Johns medal, welcome home certificate from Belford, a pair of WW2 dog tags, the forwarding letter for the efficiency medal dated 1967 Sterling silver & enamel British Railways 15 years first aid efficiency medal with extra service bars for 20 & 25 years service (this is named to the recipient on the reverse & dated 1951) & a St. John ambulance association silver fob with brass bars dated for every year from 1940 to 1960.
Along with copy army order details for the award of the efficiency medal & copy WW2 medal application card that confirms the first five medals & the 8th army clasp.
The St. johns ambulance association long service medal is unnamed as issued but comes with the recipients original named box of issue.
