James Hodson from Bensham first landed in France 1-4-1915 serving with the 1st battalion of the Northumberland Fusiliers. He is recorded on the casualty list dated 24-7-1915 as having been wounded in France & went on to transfer to the Labour Corps with service number 514498 & was discharged to the class Z army reserve 17-3-1919.
