George Bell was a resident of Blackburn & enlisted in to the 10th service battalion of the Durham Light Infantry 10-12-1915. He is recorded on the war office casualty list dated 14-9-1916 as having been wounded in France & he went on to be discharged with a silver war badge due to these wounds 3-5-1918 age 23. He went to be a long serving member of the Special Constabulary during WW2.
