Francis Marshall was the son of R.A & Dorothy Marshall of Leicestershire. He was educated at Wyggeston school & Caius college, Cambridge. He was commissioned in to the Liverpool regiment in 1910 & first landed in France with the battalion 12-8-1914. He was mortally wounded 20-9-1914 & sadly died of wounds in France & Flanders 30-9-1914. He is bured in Les Gonards cemetery at Versailles & was 37 years of age at the time of his death.
