Robert Templeton first landed in theatre of war 2B Gallipoli / The Balkans 10-6-1915 & was sadly killed in action on Gallipoli 21-8-1915 serving with the 1st battalion of the Border regiment. He was both born & enlisted in Workington & lived in Harrington. He was 33 years of age at the time of his death & is commemorated on the Helles memorial. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Alexander & Agnes Templeton of Primrose Crescent, Harrington, Cumberland.
