David Telfer was born & enlisted in Douglas, Lanarkshire & first landed in theatre of war 2B The Balkans / Gallipoli 3-9-1915 serving with the Highland Light Infantry. He transfer to the 1/7th battalion of the Royal Scots with service number 302867 & sadly died of wounds in Egypt 19-7-1917. He was 21 years of age at the time of his death & is buried in Cairo war cemetery. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Thomas Telfer of the Town hall , Douglas, Lanarkshire.
