Benjamin Palmer from Rugby, Warwickshire was born 1-7-1899 and enlisted in to the Royal Navy as a boy in April 1915. After his initial training at both HMS Ganges & HMS Victory he was posted to HMS Black prince 26-7-1915. He was lost at sea during the battle of Jutland 31-5-1916 serving onboard HMS Black Prince. He was 17 years of age at the time of his death & is commemorated on the Chatham naval memorial. The CWGC state that he was the late son of J.T & Clara Palmer of 57 Victoria Avenue, New Bilton, Rugby.
