Henry Fairley first landed in theatre of war 2B Gallipoli / The Balkans 18-8-1915 & contracted malaria whilst in service. He was discharged due to his illness and had many relapses. He took to drink and sadly whilst under the influence of drink he fell down the stairs & sustained a head injury which resulted in his death. He died 29-5-1919 age 29 & is buried in Edinburgh (Comely bank) cemetery. The CWGC state that he was the late son of Henry & Eliza Fairly of 18 Dean Park street, Edinburgh.
