Douglas Gordon Watt was the only son of the Rev Andrew Watt of St. Fergus Aberdeenshire & was educated at Daniel Stewarts college, Edinburgh. He was commissioned in to the 3rd battalion of the Gordon Highlanders but first landed in France in August of 1915 attached to the 1st battalion. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 3-3-1916 during the recapture of the Bluff & was posthumously M.I.D for services in France in the London gazette 15-6-1916. He is buried in Bedford house cemetery enclosure No-4 & was 19 years of age at the time of his death.
