Ackroyd Riley was both born & enlisted in Bradford, Yorkshire & lived in Great Horton. He was killed in action in France & Flanders 30-7-1916 serving with the 10th service battalion of the West Riding Regiment. He was 20 years of age at his death & has no known grave other than the Somme. He is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial & is recorded by the CWGC as the late son of H.H & Sarah Ann Riley of 18 Bartle Lane, Great Horton, Bradford, Yorks.
